• Environmental Education:  Assist Nature Club Teachers in sharing the environment of the Mercer Slough Nature Park with students.  Model “Leave No Trace” principles for students, demonstrate and support students’ appreciation for the natural world, and aid students in positively and safely interacting with the park’s flora and fauna.

• Elementary Science Education: Assist Nature Club Teachers in engaging students in hands-on field science investigations of the Mercer Slough Nature Park.  Support students in inquiry-based science learning.  Subjects include ecology, biology, and environmental science, with a focus on the wetland environment.

• Operational Support: Contribute to overall Nature Club operational functions by assisting Nature Club Teachers in greeting parents and students, safely moving the group from place to place, ensuring that students are properly dressed for the weather conditions, preparing supplies and educational materials, and assisting with program set-up and clean-up.
