Come join Washington Sea Grant’s Crab Team’s annual bonanza to cut, weigh, and bag all 1000lb of mackerel to be used across the green crab monitoring network in 2024. It can get a bit messy, but there are various jobs to choose from (some less messy than others), along with good music and even better company. Grab a friend and sign up for the fun!

Volunteers are needed from 9am – 5pm on Tuesday, 2/27, Wednesday 2/28, and Thursday 2/29 at the Old Hatchery in the UW Fisheries Center (FIS) (aka the Portage Bay Building. Note: if we’re speedy, we may finish before Thursday and cancel any Thursday sign-ups (you’ll hear by 2/28), so select an earlier day if you’re eager to contribute!

If you are interested in joining us, please sign up here for a 2hr shift (or more!) by selecting 2 consecutive one-hour slots by Friday 2/23. After you sign up, we’ll email to confirm your shift date/time(s) and provide further details.
