[workshop]: Resumes and Cover Letters for Environmental Careers

Hello PoE students!

One of the questions Julie and I hear the most from new majors is: “Can I get a job with this major?”

We have a great record of Environmental Studies alumni going on to successful careers (both environmental and otherwise). What better way to find out the answer to the question above for yourself by meeting our alumni in person? The Environmental Studies major offers quarterly Career Skills Workshops facilitated by the UW Career Center, PoE Advising Team, and PoE Alumni. This is an opportunity to work on your own career development while connecting with alumni from our program.

Winter Quarter Career Skills Workshop

Resumes and Cover Letters for Environmental Careers

Thursday, February 20

5:00 ~ 7:00 pm

Program on the Environment Commons, Wallace 012

The workshop will include tips and strategies for writing effective resumes and cover letters facilitated by Kimberly Petersen of the UW Career Center. There will a Q&A panel with PoE alumni followed by small group work to get feedback on your own resume. The last part of the workshop will be an opportunity to connect and network over food (maybe pizza?).

The workshop is free to current UW students. Environmental Studies majors get priority, but other UW students can attend if space permits. Dress code is casual for the event, but I need to get an accurate RSVP to order enough food, so please RSVP through the Evite link below.
