Environmental educators do not have enough time to build a level of familiarity and address their learning needs. I aim to find practices which successfully engage culturally diverse students in lessons regardless of time. I taught elementary students how erosion impacts local salmon populations through experimental science design. I sent surveys to educators about cultural practices and reviewed literature on multi- culturalism. Educators can familiarizing themselves with different cultures, immerse students in experience, and embrace creative lessons to engage diverse students and provide them equal learning opportunities. Diversity training for educators and planning for diversity in lessons would benefit student success.
