During my project, I assisted in the creation, review, and drafting of a Biological Assessment (BA) for a wastewater treatment project permit. These assessments are required by the Endangered Species Act Section 7 to review and to determine whether a project will “jeopardize” the livelihood of a listed species population. I was responsible for determining the species profiles within the BAs. There are many downfalls within the Endangered Species Act that became apparent through my internship experience, used as a case study, and through intensive scholarly article review.
