I worked at The Sierra Club, helping with outreach and coordination efforts regarding wilderness. I also went on two trips: one to Washington D.C. to lobby congress and the other to New Mexico for a wilderness conference. I learned that our modern understanding of wilderness is valuable, yet also problematic. The vitality at the core of wilderness points us toward a radical change in our conception of land, and the planet which we belong to. I now stand for the radical view that land ownership itself is creating severe discord, and I hope to live and communicate this understanding.
