During my project, I transcribed hand written calendars into an Excel spreadsheet. These calendars, as far back as 1988, contained detailed information that citizen scientist Bill Vigor collected about the weather; the amount of precipitation each day, particular weather patterns, types of precipitation, and temperature. I then analyzed this data and compared the monthly and yearly trends in an analysis report. I also analyzed current citizen science programs that are involved with weather data to evaluate how successful these programs are and potential areas of improvement.
