Beyond REACH: Amending U.S. Toxic Policy

I worked with the US EPA Region 10
toxicity/polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) team to identify
schools which potentially contained PCBs and created
outreach materials for these schools. Additionally, I was
interested in understanding how US toxic policy could
change to prevent hazardous exposure in the future, how
companies can benet from regulation, and whether the
European Union’s toxic policy could adequately serve as
model for US policy revision. Working at the EPA allowed
me the opportunity to see US toxic policy in practice and
to see is associated problems. The concurrent policy analysis
helped me to further address my research questions.
