Community-Based, Collaborative Natural Resource Management in Washington State
The Pinchot Partners are a community-based, collaborative organization focused on community health and sustainable forest management in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. During my project, I created educational materials and visual aids intended to help raise awareness of the Pinchot Partners history, mission and past projects. Even though this non-governmental organization has existed in Packwood, WA for over a decade, members of the local communities were largely unaware of their existence. In order to increase the organizational capacity of the Pinchot Partners it is vital that they boost their visibility within these communities. Increasing organizational capacity will allow this community-based collaborative to enhance their ability to meet the needs of local communities.
