During my internship, I worked to educate Environmental Protection Agency program staff on potential climate change impacts in the Pacific Northwest and to help determine program-specific information needs. I then expanded my climate change research outside of the United States and participated in an Exploration Seminar, where I helped address water insecurity in the informal urban settlement of Lomas de Zapallal, Peru. With this project, I investigated the feasibility of using fog-nets to harvest water. I further researched how climate change might impact slums throughout the world, and I explored the aspects of successful development work in these communities.
