This capstone project involved Marine Summer Camp at the Seattle Aquarium. I worked with the “Women in Science” week of camp with nine middle-school girls. Each day of camp included hands-on, experiential learning on ocean science topics. After camp, I did research on other informal science education programming and made suggestions for next year’s camp based on my conclusions. I made a scrapbook to be used for recruitment by the Seattle Aquarium and several lesson plans integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) topics into the camp curriculum. I was offered a job leading this camp next summer 2011.
