Decreasing Waste: Steps Towards a Sustainable Stadium

The purpose of my internship at the University of Washington’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics was to identify waste decreasing programs. The programs would later be implemented into the football stadiums: both at CenturyLink Field during the 2012 football season and the new University of Washington football stadium, from the 2013 football season and on. The goal of my project was to decrease waste by 70% and to increase composting and recycling at Husky football games.
