I was an intern, along with a partner, at the NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center in the Ocean Acidification Lab. In this position, I assisted with several projects, but focused primarily on examining larval lingcod. The goal of the experiment was to better understand how changes in ocean pH may impact survivorship, growth, and behavior of larval lingcod. I assisted with daily tasks in the lab, such as monitoring mortalities, cleaning, and analyzing data once it was collected. I was able to be part of the entire research process for this experiment.
