I worked for the Department of Ecology to modify one of their web-tools, the Project Questionnaire, to more closely reflect the needs of its users. The Project Questionnaire is a tool that helps determine which ecological permits a project will need. My duties involved modifying the question pathways to include common Washington State-specific projects, as determined by analyzing user feedback. This is known as user-centered design and it was the core concept of my research project. Application of user-centered design often to increases user satisfaction without incurring high costs.
