My project investigated effective ways to communicate about laboratory sustainability on three levels: within individual labs, whole departments/organizations, and throughout the scientific community. From prior work with the Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability Green Laboratory Certification Program, I knew that effective communication plays a key role in motivating participation among laboratory stakeholders. Meeting with laboratory clients, creating outreach materials, and conducting my own scientific investigation in a campus laboratory provided me with answers to my research question.
