My project focused on working with the Nature Consortium on their Youth Art Program. This program used alternative teaching methods to educate students on environmental concepts through art. The goal of my project was to participate and observe the lessons in place at the Youth Art Program, develop a design board for the classroom, and research, create, and teach my own environmental art lesson plans to the students. Through this experience I used academic research to analyze alternative teaching models and how they could be integrated into school systems today to improve education overall and improve environmental education.
