Seattle Tilth is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in Seattle through learning gardens and urban farms. As an intern at Seattle Tilth, I assisted with the summer education programs at the Rainer Beach Learning Garden and the Rainer Beach Urban Farm and Wetland. I examined how to increase community interest and participation in the garden education programs. I created educational tools to help visitors and students learn and connect with the garden. This project verified that learning gardens are effective educational resources, and can help communities engage in a more sustainable food system.
