How Do You See the Forest through the Trees?

During my project I had the phenomenal opportunity to intern with Dr. Jim Lutz and his research team on the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot (YFDP) during the summer of 2013. My role as research assistant during this internship introduced me to a number of forest management strategies, and gave me the chance to learn more about the complexities of why certain strategies are implemented in certain ecosystems. After my internship I was very curious about the possibility of different stakeholder groups having significant preferences for these various strategies, and how to address these preferences with more effective forestry education.
