My project was to evaluate means of achieving sustainable transportation. I also analyzed whether our community members saw roads as more than mere routes but as destinations. Shifting views can better our community, and transportation methods. I worked with Seattle Department of Transportation’s Summer Streets to evaluate how the car-free event affected community and environmental behavior. I also compared the city’s goals to other large cities to look possible improvements. The goal of this study is to show how Seattle is a suitable city to become a leader in sustainable transportation and to create recommendations to achieve this.
