The goal of this project was to develop a series of maps using ArcGIS software that could be used to identify potential locations for residential installation of functioning rain gardens in Kitsap County, Washington. I created these maps for Washington Sea Grant’s outreach program, which aims to effectively reach community members that have privately owned land that meets rain garden design requirements; the outreach program contacts these individuals to discuss rain garden installation. Rain gardens are an effective Best Management Practice (BMP) for Low Impact Development (LID) in urban stormwater runoff
management.
