During my internship, I served as one of three leaders for the WILD youth program. My every day task included helping WILD program managers with curriculum, assisting youth participants during discussions and serving as a mentor especially during camping trips. I also incorporated youths learning goals in two lessons on gardening and access to healthy foods in youth’s communities. During my lessons I facilitated meaningful conversations, supervised group discussions, cooking projects and team-building activities. Additionally, I also conduced an end-of-the-program evaluation to analyze the impacts of the program on youths and their engagement on lessons covered.
