During my project, I created a database called the Greening Sports Directory, utilizing web research to identify helpful resources available to sports facilities managers. I was interested in studying the motivating factors of behavior change, and how knowledge of these factors could influence sustainable change to sports facilities. I was able to gain first-hand feedback from sustainability representatives across the nation, which gave me an opportunity to ask questions related to my research, and provided valuable insight to the facilities management industry. I found that sustainability action is most hindered by monetary concerns of return on investment.
