I worked at Seattle Tilth as a Garden Teaching Intern to create garden signage for the Rainier Beach Learning Garden. I organized two painting sessions during which children from a neighborhood summer childcare program created signage to number the garden beds, provide sensory prompts, detail garden rules, and mark locations within the garden. The activity reinforced concepts the children had learned during Seattle Tilth’s education programs while having fun and contributing to the aesthetic appeal of a natural place.
