Change from Within: Diversifying the Environmental Movement is a cross-disciplinary project fostered by my internship with The Center for Creative Conservation. This qualitative research study is about improving diversity in the environmental field explored through in-person interviews with various leaders in NGO’s, government, the business community, and academia. The findings of my research uncovered a need to create workplace environments where bringing up issues of equity are not only allowed but encouraged, and the importance of clear communication between the hierarchical tiers within organizations. This project creates a framework for addressing issues of inequity within organizational structures, and within ourselves.
