Making Greenways Greener
For my capstone project, I worked with Seattle Neighborhood Greenways(SNG) to develop an evaluation methodology in order to conduct an audit of Seattle’s Neighborhood Greenway network. Micro-scale built environment characteristics along each route were analyzed through the lens of the developed methodology to measure the walkability and bike-ability from an all-ages-and-abilities perspective. For my individual research focus, I performed analyses of Green Stormwater Infrastructure(GSI) projects implemented throughout the city and utilized the evaluation methodology to assess the benefits provided to the active transportation user-experience. The street audits conducted throughout my capstone reveal how GSI projects improve walkability/bikeability throughout the city.
