I completed my capstone internship at the American Farmland Trust, a national nonprofit dedicated to farmland preservation. Throughout the quarter I helped them prepare a conference for city and county officials in the Puget Sound region to learn about how to plan for local food in their areas. In doing so, I read a lot of literature about the growing local food movement and decided to write my analysis paper on the steps to developing successful local food systems in the Puget Sound and beyond.
