Renewable energy is becoming increasingly popular around the United States, with record purchases of solar panels in 2016. I was interested in how the University of Washington integrates renewable energy into its infrastructure. I worked with UW Sustainability to aid in the development of a Sustainability Directory. The goal of this directory is to help connect interested parties to researchers and faculty in the field of sustainability. In addition to my internship, I aimed to discover the main limitations to the expansion of the use of renewable energy at the University of Washington, and to develop solutions to these limitations.
