Over the summer of 2011, I assisted in teaching conservation education at the Seattle Aquarium. I taught the overarching topics of overfishing, ecosystems services and sustainable living practices to students and visitors. I became interested in understanding how the Seattle Aquarium infiuences the actions and behaviors of its visitors. I began observing the different teaching techniques used by the Seattle Aquarium and was able to identify were three main techniques: hands on, alternative choices and localizing issues. Then, I researched the efficiency of these techniques on, infiuencing social dynamics and was able to incorporate them into a new curriculum.
