I analyzed information directly and indirectly related to consumption and sustainable consumption. This research was conducted on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions 9 and 10 and in partnership with the West Coast Climate Change and Material Management Forum (the forum), a collaborative group of local and federal government officials within these regions. The forum shares information, resources, and ideas pertaining to management strategies that promote sustainable consumption. An initial analysis of existing information determined areas for additional research. Findings from this research indicated that the business sector and effective communication might help achieve sustainable consumption.
