I worked as a camp counselor and educator in the Seattle Aquarium’s Marine Summer Camp program in partnership with Islandwood. I taught one week of camp that focused on sharks and shark conservation, and created a curriculum for this week of camp. This curriculum involved crafts, lessons, discussions, games and other activities that taught students about sharks and shark conservation. I based these activities off discussions with experts, published research, biological facts about sharks, and conservation issues that sharks currently face. This curriculum was taught in 2011, and will also be used by the aquarium in future years of camp.
