Climate change mitigation strategies vary greatly, but often fit into one of two categories; political actions or lifestyle changes. Within the environmental community there is wide disagreement on which method is best. However, this divide ignores the reality that both tactics are necessary for effective mitigation. Seattleites are willing to get more involved, but they need given clear direction on how to best take action. Developing this clear direction will come from the environmental community discarding the “my way it best” attitude, realizing how necessary each strategy is, and working together to promote the best approaches to battle climate change.
