The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is the fourth most water scarce country in the world. I traveled there and interviewed fifty-one individuals about their water usage and their perceptions of the domestic water system, in terms of both water quality and scarcity. The purpose of this study was to better understand the average citizen’s perception of the domestic water system in a country with stringent water quality standards and services. The interviews were also helpful for me to understand Jordanian cultural values. This project was a part of my Research Methodology course at the Arava Institute with Professor Clive Lipchin.
