As part of West Seattle YMCA’s summer camp, my intern-ship integrated environmentally based education in, and restoration of, Lincoln Park in West Seattle. As part of the summer camp program, I used lessons, games, activities, and a variety of other methods to illustrate how an under- standing of ecological values can promote and reinforce positive and responsible behavior when interacting with the environment. Weekly site preparation within the park allowed the children to help prepare a section for fall planting. I constructed a survey that helped gauge the public’s view on environmental education and how it compares to other disciplines.
