My internship with Seattle Neighborhood Greenways intended to evaluate the motorist stopping behavior at intersections. My colleague Ranju and I conducted obser- vational study at these intersections in order to collect data on motorists’ compliance rates. My research question found out that certain road treatments include round- abouts, jughandles, and superstreets were proofed to be effective in order to enhance the motorists’ compliance rates. The study titled Safe Crossing for Kids is to provide a glimpse into the current conditions of pedestrian safety at crosswalks near school, and to raise public awareness of the larger environmental issues such as the influence of the built environment to neighborhoods.
