Advisory Board

The UW Program on the Environment’s Faculty Advisory Board provides non-binding strategic advice to the Director, as well as assistance with a wide range of tasks including outreach, event planning, community building, marketing and fund-raising. It helps the Program on the Environment connect with faculty, students, alumni and community members to assist in developing and delivering effective community programming and education, both on-campus and beyond.

Board membership reflects the range of environmental disciplines at the University of Washington and breadth of the Program on the Environment curriculum. The functions of the Advisory Board are to:

  • Serve as the official forum in which the Director obtains advice on program processes and decisions
  • Consult on long-term planning issues, ranging from governance framework to institutional alignment and affiliation, that will foster sustainable growth of the Program on the Environment
  • Serve as representatives of Program on the Environment in their home units
  • Participate actively in on-campus networking—both helping to connect new faculty with the Program on the Environment and exploring ways to expand opportunities for faculty to collaborate with the Program on the Environment.
