Air & Waste Management Association to Hold 107th Annual Conference & Exhibition in Long Beach, California

The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) will hold its 107th Annual Conference & Exhibition,June 2427, 2014, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California.

 “Long Beach is home to one of the world’s busiest seaports and is a center for transportation, industry, and environmental stewardship so it provides the perfect location for our 2014 Annual Conference & Exhibition, which is built around the theme ‘Navigating Environmental Crossroads,” said Jim Powell, A&WMA Executive Director. “With a technical program that covers a vast variety of topics from air quality and climate change to waste utilization and renewable engery, attendees from all fields will gain practical knowledge, develop new insights, and make valuable connections with colleagues from around the world.”  

 The Annual Conference will feature a technical program with more than 400 presentations, 70 technical and student posters, more than 100 exhibitors displaying the latest products and services, social tours and networking events, professional development courses taught by leading instructors, and a student program. 

The Keynote program will feature four extraordinary leaders shaping tomorrow’s business and environmental strategies: an amazing line up of speakers including:

  • Janet McCabe, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
  • Steven L. Shestag, The Boeing Company
  • Dennis Arriola, Southern California Gas Company
  • Barry R. Wallerstein, Dr. Env., South Coast Air Quality Management District

 The program will feature a Mini-Symposium on the Impacts of Transportation Hubs and Ports, bringing special focus to pressing issues and innovations in managing regional air quality and other environmental issues at seaports, airports, and other hubs.

Announcing the Seattle chapter of YEP, the Young Environmental Professionals. YEP events aim to inspire and nurture both personal and professional development. Our participants are primarithose under 40, students, and people who are new (within the last 3 years) to the environmental, energy, sustainability, and related fields.

YEP events currently include casual mixers, forums,  and morning coffee meet ups, but will expand to include other activities in the  near future – send us your ideas! Our events allow our participants to gain presentation experience, to network with each other, and to network with Guest Mentors from various companies within the industry.
