Through my internship at the Good Cheer Food Bank and Thrift Stores I assisted in every day garden operations, such as harvest and maintenance. I also assisted in Good Cheer’s efforts to minimize food waste by assisting in food processing operations. With the help of my colleagues I composed a zine that aimed to foster a relationship between food bank shop- pers and staff, and to provide shoppers with useful informa- tion and resources. Finally, I engaged with and observed volunteers and staff in an effort to understand the impact that Good Cheer has on the local community and the means by which they achieve these outcomes.
