During my project, I tried to become fully engulfed in the shellfish aquaculture industry as possible. I worked for Set & Drift Shellfish, a shellfish company that grows oysters in Northern Hood Canal, and saw how a shellfish aquaculture operation works. I was very interested in how people in this region view shellfish aquaculture as a source of food. I interviewed several professionals in the industry including growers, government employees, and industry representatives. I also conducted a literature review on past studies done on perceptions of shellfish aquaculture.
