I interned for the non-profit Wild Fish Conservancy based in Duvall working to identify and engage private landowners within the Bear Creek/Sammamish River Watershed to gain participation in restoring their streamside property. A varied demographic of people span the two towns, Redmond and Woodinville, which both are located within the watershed I conducted my research. Working within a diverse group of participants gave valuable insights to which method of outreach, phone, door to door and mailers, was most effective for them and why and how these methods can be useful depending on the goal of the organization’s project.
