My project consisted of researching three hardrock mines sites as case studies within the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 10, to identify problems with prediction methods during Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process, a requirement of the National Environmental Policy Act. By comparing predicted environmental impacts to actual outcomes of three different mine sites in different mine life stages, I was able to find commonalities among each of them that I could make recommendations.
