As a volunteer coordinator of the Kincaid Ravine restoration project, I assisted in organizing four major restoration events and also worked with volunteers during each event throughout the winter quarter in 2014. I was interested in learning whether the concept of urban ecological restoration is reflected in project evaluations, what social factors are missed, and how evaluation methods can be advanced by incorporating social factors into the process. My internship and my interactions with local restoration leaders and volunteers provide me opportunities to explore the topic and find answers to my question.
