I worked at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 10 office to create a newsletter to highlight the activities of tribes covered under the Federal Air Rules for Reservations (FARR). I compiled stories of successful tribal air quality projects and programs, which the EPA published and distributed to tribes and air quality organizations nationwide. The newsletter success stories reflect the variety of methods that local tribes use to deal with air quality issues. In addition, tribes nationwide use a variety of methods to deal with environmental issues on reservation lands, including education/outreach, solid waste/recycling programs, and tribal environmental councils.
