For this project, I interned at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 10 office and evaluated an environmental monitoring program being carried out by the US Army. This project was monitoring the environment surrounding a facility where chemical weapons were being disposed of by way of incineration. I used this internship experience as a basis for writing a paper that argues in support of increasing long-term environmental monitoring and the necessary components of environmental monitoring programs that make them the most efficient and highest quality system possible.
