Shifting Sand: Changes in Spit Morphology
For my Capstone project, I worked with the Washington Sea Grant’s Coastal Hazards program on a GIS project centered on historical shoreline change. The core focus of this project was the production of a digital representation of the shorelines for Dungeness Spit and Ediz Hook. From this digital rendering, I was able to conduct a basic analysis of shoreline morphology and research possible driving forces of these changes. The work that I completed is a starting point for further research into the fields of shoreline morphology and costal development.
