Transboundary Carnivore Conservation
My internship project focused on collaborative wildlife conservation for carnivores. I facilitated the communica- tion of the Trans-boundary Cascade Carnivore Working Group (TCC) by interviewing researchers and wildlife managers from Washington and British Columbia. I collected information pertaining to the seven carnivore species on which the TCC focuses. With my interview data I drafted a report with relevant information on the state of previously established conservation needs and a summary of newly recognized needs for future conservation efforts. From my data I found discrepancies in the level of conservation for individual species, and provided recommendations for improving the TCC’s efforts.
