I developed education and outreach materials for Citizen Stewardship Committees managed by Washington Environmental Council. Funded by a grant from Washington State’s Department of Natural Resources, the committees perform citizen science, education/outreach, and regulatory policy projects for local aquatic reserves throughout the Puget Sound. I was most interested in human-environment relationships, how committee members related to each other and to the Aquatic reserves for which they serve as stewards. In order to describe these relationships, I carried out a brief research study utilizing short-answer and essay-style surveys.
