I created draft materials and gathered input from the Bainbridge Island community to help prepare for the implementation of three proposed beach boardwalks at Fay Bainbridge Park on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Throughout this project, I sought to understand management tradeoffs associated with promoting recreation while protecting ecological health. My interaction with various stakeholders, including managers and community members, as well as my review of current literature, discussions with experts, and deep reflection helped me better understand this complex issue and its potential solutions.
