During my project, I assisted City Fruit in updating their outreach materials and reaching out to Seattle neighbor- hoods served by City Fruit to increase community aware- ness of and participation in the organization. I also wrote two impact reports that detailed how City Fruit was helping to positively impact the issues of carbon emissions and food insecurity in Seattle. I learned just how incredible of a resource the urban fruit tree canopy is for the commu- nity while writing the reports and became interested in what is currently being done to manage and protect it, so it can continue to be a resource.
