I served as the marketing intern and worked to promote and run successful markets weekly. My individual research explored why people chose to shop there and what components influenced week-to-week success by conducting a survey and observations. As more research was done, I understood how each economic and social component influenced customer behavior and participa- tion and then produced recommendations for market management. Addressing all aspects of market operations, the recommendations offer a comprehensive plan to improve the financial and social success of the market, and local food system as a whole.
