Urban agriculture presents opportunities for communities, solutions to cities’ waste management and environmental quality control issues. For my project, I explore the limitations and benefits of UA (urban agriculture) which is integrated into urban ecosystems which introduces constraints differing from other agriculture practices. I want to display how UA’s benefits outweigh its drawbacks through case study of my capstone growing microgreens and intensive literature reviews. The major reason people are discouraged from UA is its unproven economic stability where only niche market might be available. However, with the support from communities and local government, UA improves the community well-being.
